At its regularly scheduled Action Meeting on May 27, 2025, the Elizabethtown Area School District Board of School Directors approved the 2025–2026 final budget in the amount of $82,095,633.
This budget represents a 0.1% increase in expenditures over the current year’s budget of $82,010,948. Notably, it does not include any increase in teacher salaries, as a new collective bargaining agreement with the teachers’ association has not yet been finalized.
To support the budget, the Board approved a 2.5% real estate tax increase, setting the new millage rate at 20.2847. Of the total increase, 2.0% will support operating expenditures, while 0.5% will be transferred to the district’s capital reserve fund to address future facility needs.
To help offset a revenue shortfall, the budget includes a $1,481,365 draw from the district’s fund balance. The Board also passed a resolution authorizing the use of additional fund balance dollars, if needed, to address any further shortfall.
As in previous years, eligible property owners will receive the Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion, which provides a $152.95 credit against their tax bill.
