The 2025-2026 budget development process began with aligning school and department-level budgets with payroll projections, contractual obligations, debt service schedules, and operational needs to establish a preliminary financial plan. Given the initial deficit, as part of the normal annual budget refinement process, the District Administration reviewed the draft budget multiple times and identified opportunities to reduce expenditures. Additionally, the Board directed the Administration to identify further reductions to help minimize any potential tax increase.
The School Board extends a cordial invitation to residents and taxpayers to engage in our monthly workshop sessions and action meetings. The next meeting of the board is scheduled for April 22, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the middle school auditorium.
The last scheduled day for students and staff before Spring Recess will be on Wednesday, April 16. On this day, students will be dismissed early. Spring Recess for students and families will commence following the early dismissal. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 22, marking the end of the Spring Recess.

Every three years, EASD revises and submits a Special Education Plan as part of our comprehensive planning process. In accordance with state requirements, the plan is publicly posted for 28 calendar days before being submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) for approval.
At their regularly scheduled January action meeting, the Elizabethtown Area School District Board of School Directors approved two new policies: Policy 123.3, related to sex-based distinctions in athletics, and Policy 216.1, concerning student records and name/gender identity. These policies were brought forward at the recommendation of the Board of School Directors for discussion and consideration in the fall.
The Elizabethtown Area School District Board of School Directors approved the 2025-2026 school calendar at its regularly-scheduled January 2025 action meeting. The first day of school for students will be August 25, and the last day of school will be May 29.
