988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), and is now active across the United States. When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.

Provided via Good Samaritan Counseling, all 9th & 11th grade students receive a mental health screening during school, as a manner to connect students and families with appropriate treatment resources if necessary. TeamCare is the provider of school-based therapy for any EASD student. This is provided weekly-to-bi-weekly, dependent upon need. Compass Mark
Compass Mark’s mission is to prevent (all types of) addiction through education, skill-building and community mobilization. School-Based Prevention/Online lessons available: We are unable to provide onsite prevention education due to the school closures, however staff are recording lessons to post online. They are available on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/CompassMark) and FB page (https://www.facebook.com/CompassMark).
Compass Mark Addiction Resource Center: All information/referral calls are being routed to remote staff, who are connecting individuals with available treatment and recovery supports. Local residential and outpatient D&A services are operational and many support groups are transitioning to online. For a list of mental health providers, it is recommended that you look on the back of your insurance card for a telephone number to help assist you with locating an appropriate clinician. This is often listed as “Behavioral Health” on your insurance card. This also includes assistance in locating substance abuse needs, psychiatric services, etc.
