Homeless Services

The Elizabethtown Area School District is committed to ensuring that every student has access to a stable, supportive, and uninterrupted education. Through the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, students and families experiencing homelessness are entitled to educational rights and services designed to remove barriers to school attendance and academic success.

Students who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence may qualify for services under the McKinney-Vento Act. These supports may include assistance with school enrollment, transportation, school stability, referrals to community resources, access to school programs and activities, and other services that help students remain engaged in their education. Students who are not living with a parent or legal guardian may also qualify as Unaccompanied Youth and are afforded the same educational protections under the law.

If you or a family you know may qualify for services under the McKinney-Vento Act, please contact the District's Supervisor of Student Services for assistance. All inquiries are handled with care and sensitivity.
