Culture of Belonging

The mission of the Elizabethtown Area School District is as follows:

Every Student Graduates Ready to Live, Learn, and Thrive in a Global Community

We accomplish this mission by coupling three core elements: 1) robust learning environments at all grade levels, 2) a healthy culture of belonging in all school buildings; and 3) an accountability system that provides feedback on how well we are doing as an educational institution.

In this section of the website, we take a closer look at how we foster a healthy culture of belonging in all school buildings.

Pairing academic offerings with opportunities that foster emotional readiness, social skills, and teamwork optimizes the school experience and helps propel graduates to pursue their desired path after graduation. In addition, assisting students to develop healthy relationships with peers and make responsible decisions creates an environment that supports learning and future success as adults.

Removing barriers that may have arisen through changes to family circumstances, learning needs and exceptionalities, and/or physical or mental health challenges is essential to empowering our students to choose a meaningful and relevant path after graduation.

The District also recognizes that our students come with different motivations for their learning experience related to their level of engagement, behavior, and academic performance. Therefore, removing barriers that may have arisen through changes to family circumstances, learning needs and exceptionalities, and/or physical or mental health challenges is essential to empowering our students to choose a meaningful and relevant path after graduation. As such, our goal is to provide a comprehensive system of programs and services that address the specific needs of each student for that student to achieve their highest potential.
