EAHS Students Selected to PMEA District Band
February 22, 2023- The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) selected three Elizabethtown Area High School band students for its highly competitive (PMEA) District Band 7 South. This year’s festival was held at Warwick High School over two days in early February. Alexander Kaminsky, Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Music at Vandercook College of Music, was the guest conductor.
Band teachers across District 7 selected the students for this prestigious ensemble through an audition process conducted earlier this school year. Earning their way onto the all-star band from EAHS were Carissa Dyer (clarinet), Emily Phillips (French horn), and Noa Williams (trombone).
The ensemble consisted of talented band students from high schools in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Franklin, Perry, and York counties. While at the festival, the students auditioned for a part in the PMEA Regional Band.
