Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation receives $15K donation

May 17, 2022- The Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation recently received a donation of $15,000 from the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. The funds will support and enhance the Foundation’s efforts to impact student learning at the Elizabethtown Area School District. 

Presenting the check from Masonic Village was Mike Rowe, executive director of the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. Receiving the ceremonial check on behalf of the Foundation were Joseph Murphy, president of the Foundation, and Dr. Michele Balliet, superintendent of schools for the Elizabethtown Area School District and foundation board member. This is the fourteenth year in a row the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown has gifted the foundation $15,000 for a grand total of $210,000Masonic Village Check Presentation

The Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization that was established to provide a vehicle for individuals and businesses who want to supplement public education in the Elizabethtown Area School District. The funds will support numerous efforts, including but not limited to, the following initiatives:

  • EASD’s career and workforce readiness initiative, including the high school’s pre-apprenticeship programs and the new welding lab.
  • Underwriting the costs for high school students to take part in the Attollo program. Attollo partners with local school districts to support students from diverse backgrounds in pursuing academic achievement, empowerment, and social engagement.
  • Provide an innovative and unique educational opportunity for a classroom or program in grades K-12 outside the normal operations of the District

Individuals and businesses are encouraged to support the Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation by making a donation to the private 501(c)(3) entity.
