November 23, 2021- Bainbridge Elementary School recently completed its annual Thanksgiving Food drive to combat hunger in the community during the holiday season. As a result of the weeklong effort to collect non-perishable food items, ten families in need in the Bainbridge community were provided with a food basket stocked full of many of the items needed for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Additionally, students brought in household items such as paper towels, napkins, and plastic ware to go along with the food baskets. In total, 452 items were collected during the one-week food drive.
The annual food drive has become a tradition at the school and was once again enthusiastically supported by the school's students, faculty, and staff. As part of the District's Life Ready Model, student participation in altruistic projects extends learning beyond our school system's four walls. These experiences empower students to give back to their community and build the foundation to become productive adult citizens.
