EAHS to present “The Curious Savage” Nov. 11 and 13
November 3, 2021- Elizabethtown Area High School is proud to present “The Curious Savage” by John Patrick in the EAHS Auditorium on November 11 and 13 at 7 p.m. and November 13 at 1 p.m.
Set in the 1950s, “The Curious Savage” is the story of an elderly widow named Mrs. Savage, whose husband has left her 10 million dollars. She intends to give the entire fortune away to people who wish to pursue their “foolish dreams,” but her stepchildren strongly object. To prevent her from doing away with their family’s wealth and ruining their legacy, they have her committed to a sanatorium called The Cloisters, and it is among the gentle residents there that she finds her true family. The Curious Savage is a warm comedy that compares the kindness and loyalty of psychiatric patients with the greed and hostility of so-called “normal people.”
The cast is led by seniors Keli Georges as Mrs. Ethel P. Savage. Tori Bressler as Lily Belle Savage, Bryan Murray as Jeff, and Tristan Lentz as Dr. Emmett. Rounding out the cast are juniors Emma Creason and Ellie Smith, sophomores Olivia Gable and Liam Burke, and freshmen Will Bonsall, Scott Creason, and Brendan Fritz.
The stage crew is led by stage managers senior Abigail Franz, Emma Dixon, and Emma Weaver. Technical managers, senior Connor Alspaugh and junior Emma Martin lead a crew of six.
Tickets are $7 for students and seniors and $10 for adults. All tickets are general admission and will be for sale 45 minutes before performances in the high school main lobby.
