EASD Stands Up to Bullying

October 13, 2021- Elementary school students, faculty, and staff all across the Elizabethtown Area School District wore blue on Wednesday, Oct. 13, to take a stand against bullying. The show of solidarity was timed to coincide with National Stop Bullying Day, which falls on the second Wednesday in October each year. This year’s theme was STOMP OUT BULLYING and was designed to bring our schools and communities together in a collective effort to put an end to bullying and cyberbullying in our communities.

The commemoration also increased awareness of the impact bullying can have on children of all ages and encourage students to reach outside their comfort zone and make new friends or share kind words with their classmates. Finally, the color blue was chosen because, in many cultures, blue symbolizes peace.

The District strives to provide a school environment where all students feel safe and is conducive to learning. Through the Leader in Me program, students are learning how to develop positive and healthy relationships with their peers and make responsible decisions regarding their own behaviors and interactions.
