Bear Creek School holds holiday food drive and Giving Tree
December 21, 2020- Holiday spirit abounded at the Bear Creek School through its annual Giving Tree and food drive programs. This year's extraordinary spirit of generosity benefitted 28 local families experiencing financial difficulty this holiday season.
With more and more families struggling due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, this year's need was magnified. As such, the goal was to ensure as many kids and families as possible could wake up with presents under the tree and food on the table during the holiday season. In total, over 70 students received gifts, and 115 people families enjoyed a holiday meal thanks to the students, faculty, staff, and PTO of the school.
As part of the District's Life Ready Model, student participation in altruistic projects extends learning beyond our school system's four walls. These experiences empower students to give back to their community and build the foundation to become productive adult citizens.
