Bear Creek School student musicians to perform orchestra concert on April 25
April 17, 2019- The Bear Creek School student orchestra will perform its annual spring concert on April 25 at 7 p.m. on the Bear Creek School main stage. The concert is free and open to the public. Performing during the night of music will be fourth, fifth, and sixth grade instrumental students.
The fourth grade ensemble will perform musical selections including the Big Note Boogie and Beethoven's Ninth (theme from Beethoven's Ode to Joy). The fifth and sixth grade combined orchestra will perform a repertoire including Rossini's William Tell Overture and Tchaikovsky's Finale from Serenade for Strings.
The concert will also feature a small ensemble of advanced string students who participated in Hershey Symphony's Festival Strings Youth Orchestra, as well as twelve Bear Creek students that were selected to participate in the annual PMEA District 7 Stringfest.
The concert will end with all students on stage together to play a short fiddle tune. Mr. Jill Justin McLaughlin, the string specialist at Bear Creek School, will be directing the ensembles.
