Students prepare Winter Blues Care packages for their teachers
February 21, 2020- East High Street Elementary School’s Junior Lighthouse team delivered their gratitude to their teachers at the school by assembling Winter Blues Care Packages for each classroom. The care packages contained winter essentials like tissues, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, cough drops, and mints. All the items were placed in care boxes decorated by the students and hand-delivered to each classroom.
The Junior Light House team came up with the idea to do something nice for the teachers as part of the school’s “Spread Kindness Initiative” aligned to the Leader In Me program. All the care package items were donated by the nineteen members of the Junior Lighthouse team.
The Junior Lighthouse Team is composed of students in first and second grades. Their goal is to help foster a positive school climate through leadership, school projects, and public appearances. Members include Wesley Camp, Ivy Carl, Finn Elhajj, Parker Heisey, Kaylee Hollinger, Pia Houck, Lucy Kanfer, Jase Lokey, Abbie Martin, Zoey Miller, Levi Musser, Sophia Short, Angela Smith, Elyse Sprenkle, Liliana Stouffer, Kaytlyn Trostle, Tyler Umbrell, Emma Staudt Willet, and Isabelle Williams.
