Thanksgiving Food Drive at Bainbridge Elementary

December 3, 2020- Just before Thanksgiving break, Bainbridge Elementary School recently held its annual food drive to combat hunger in the community during the holiday season. As a result of the weeklong effort to collect non-perishable food items, eleven families in need in the Bainbridge community were provided with a food basket stocked full with many of the items needed for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Additionally, students brought in household items such as paper towels, napkins, plastic ware, toothbrushes, and toothpaste to go along with the food baskets.

The annual food drive has become a tradition at the school and was once again enthusiastically supported by the school's students, faculty, and staff. As part of the District's Life Ready Model, student participation in altruistic projects extends learning beyond our school system's four walls. These experiences empower students to give back to their community and build the foundation to become productive adult citizens.
