EASD Stands Up to Bullying

October 7, 2019- Students, faculty, and staff all across the Elizabethtown Area School District wore blue today to take a stand against bullying. The show of solidarity was timed to coincide with World Day of Bullying Prevention, which is held the first Monday of every October. This year’s theme was STOMP Out Bullying and was designed to bring our schools and communities together in a collective effort to put an end to bullying and cyber bullying in our communities.

It was also to increase awareness of the impact bullying can have on children of all ages and encourage students to reach outside their comfort zone and make new friends or share kind words with their classmates. The color blue was chosen because in many cultures blue symbolizes peace.

The District strives to provide a school environment where all students feel safe and is conducive to learning. Through the Leader in Me program, students are learning how to develop positive and healthy relationships with their peers and make responsible decisions when it comes to their own behaviors and interactions.
