School Board Meeting - October Workshop Session
October 4, 2022- The Elizabethtown Area School District Board of School Directors will convene on Tuesday, October 11, at 6 p.m. in the MIDDLE SCHOOL AUDITORIUM for its regularly scheduled monthly workshop session. Members of the public are welcome to attend in person or virtually (see the ZOOM link and log-in information below).
The school board invites interested stakeholders to offer public comments on agenda and non-agenda items. The Board welcomes this opportunity to hear from community members about issues that are important to them as it fosters better decision-making and improved learning experiences for all students. The Board uses the public comment period as an opportunity to listen to citizen concerns but not to debate issues or enter into a question-and-answer session with the speaker. As such, the Board values civil, respectful statements and clear, concise communications that help to inform its deliberations. As this is a meeting of the Board, all comments should be directed to the Board President.
Stakeholders that wish to address the Board of School Directors in-person during Public Comments must complete a Yellow Card (available at the meeting) in its entirety and place it in the box next to the board secretary BY 6:20 PM. Yellow cards will not be accepted after 6:20 PM. Stakeholders that wish to deliver their remarks virtually must pre-register by Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at noon. The District uses the ZOOM platform to facilitate virtual comments. Please contact Troy Portser, Director of School and Community Information, at (717) 367-1521, ext. 10024 to pre-register.
Public comments must adhere to the following procedures:
- You can only offer public comment one time per school board meeting.
- In-person speakers must complete a Yellow Card in its entirety and place it in the box next to the board secretary by 6:20 PM
- Virtual speakers must preregister by noon the day of the meeting.
- You must identify yourself by name and the address at which you reside before beginning your remarks.
- Your comments are limited to five minutes.
If you are not interested in delivering your remarks publicly or are unable to attend the meeting in person or virtually, the Board wants to remind stakeholders that they may submit in writing their comments on agenda and non-agenda items to the school board via the school board secretary (Mrs. Becky Maxwell) at 600 E. High Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Stakeholders can submit comments on any topic at any time. Please note, the board secretary provides a copy of all comments submitted in writing by stakeholders to each board member. They are not read out loud at the public meeting.
