Virtual School Board Meeting - March 31, 2020
The Elizabethtown Area School District is committed to public input and participation in our local governance. We are equally committed to protecting the health and safety of our community during this global health crisis. As such, given the Coronavirus pandemic and the numerous safety guidelines associated with the global health crisis, the Board of Education will now hold its March 31, 2020, action meeting online using the Zoom platform (see link and log-in information below).
In order to comply with the sunshine law, you will be able to join the Zoom Meeting from a computer, mobile device, or tablet to listen to this meeting. Please note, the School Board is temporarily suspending public comment on all non-agenda items. The meeting agenda for March 31, 2020, contains only those items with which the District and Board of Education have deemed essential to keep District operations running (CLICK HERE to view the full Meeting Agenda). Information on how the District is handling the Coronavirus can be found directly on our website.
Stakeholders wishing to address the board during public comment on voting agenda items (Action Items C1 through C13), MUST register with the District by Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at 12 p.m. Public comment will only be permitted on the agenda items scheduled to be discussed and voted on this evening (March 31) by individuals pre-registered for the public comment section of the agenda. Please contact Troy Portser, Director of School and Community Information, at (717) 367-1521, ext. 10024 if you would like to participate in the public comment portion of the meeting. Please leave your name and contact information so you can be added to the list. Public comments must adhere to the following procedures:
- All interested stakeholders wishing to offer public comment prior to the board vote (on voting agenda items only) have the opportunity to do so however, these individuals must be pre-registered - see above).
- All interested stakeholders wishing to offer public comment (on voting agenda items) must identify him or herself by name and the address with which he/she resides.
- All public comments (on voting agenda items) are limited to five minutes.
- Again, the Board of School Directors is suspending public comment on non-voting items for this meeting.
To remind our EASD community, there will be NO vote, agenda item, or discussion on the consolidation of schools or renovations regarding Rheems, Mill Road and/or East High Elementary Schools. This subject is being tabled until a later date. Any information concerning the potential discussions of this topic of the School Board will be announced through our established district procedures with the opportunity for public comment at that time.
