Thanksgiving Food Drive at Bainbridge Elementary

November 15, 2019- Bainbridge Elementary School recently held its annual Thanksgiving food drive to combat hunger in the community during the holiday season. As a result of the weeklong effort to collect non-perishable food items, twenty-five families in need in the Bainbridge community will be provided with a food basket stocked full with many of the items needed for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Additionally, students brought in household items such as paper towels, napkins, plasticware, toothbrushes, and toothpaste to go along with the food baskets. The school’s PTO added gift certificates for a turkey.

The annual food drive has become a tradition at the school and was once again enthusiastically supported by the school’s students, faculty, and staff. As part of the District’s Life Ready Model, student participation in altruistic projects extends learning beyond the four walls of our school system. These experiences empower students to give back to their community and build the foundation to become productive adult citizens.
