PMSS Group presents $5,000 to Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation
December 17, 2018- The Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation recently received a check for $5,000 from the PMSS Group, Inc. The funds will be used to support foundation initiatives such as its educational classroom grant program, agribusiness program at the high school, and the career and workforce readiness initiative. Philip Hawthorne, major account manager for the PMSS Group, Inc., presented the check to Dr. Michele Balliet, board member of the education foundation and superintendent of schools for the Elizabethtown Area School District.
PMSS Group gave the funds to the foundation making use of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program. The EITC program helps businesses reduce their state tax liability by investing in their local community. To this end, C-Corporations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, and LLCs can apply for tax credits against the tax liability of a business by making a donation to an eligible charity.
The foundation’s mission is to secure funding and award monies to provide supplemental resources that will enrich and enhance teaching and learning in the Elizabethtown Area School District and help prepare students for the twenty-first century. Since 2009, the Foundation has awarded over $140,000 to the school district for innovation and unique educational programs in the classroom. In addition, the Foundation raised over $1,000,000 for athletic field improvements and gives out over $25,000 in student scholarships each year.
Individuals and businesses are encouraged to support the Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation by making a donation to the private 501(c)(3) entity. All contributions to the Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation are tax deductible. For more information on the foundation, contact Troy Portser at (717) 367-1521 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
