To help brighten the holidays for families in need, the Bear Creek School recently held its annual Holiday Giving Tree program. As part of this annual tradition, the school’s faculty, staff and students as well as community members purchased suggested gifts for families who could use the help this season of giving.
The Elizabethtown Area Education Foundation recently received a check for $5,000 from the PMSS Group, Inc. The funds will be used to support foundation initiatives such as its educational classroom grant program, agribusiness program at the high school, and the career and workforce readiness initiative.
Fourteen students from Bear Creek School were selected to participate in the 2018 PMEA Youth Honors Band Festival, which was held Nov. 16-17 at New Oxford High School. This prestigious festival is for fifth and sixth grade band students and includes students from eight counties (Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York) in South Central Pennsylvania.
Ring in the season by joining the Elizabethtown Area School District’s Music Department for five evenings of festive holiday music. At each concert, the district’s talented student-musicians will perform a variety of seasonal favorites beloved by all. All five concerts are open to the public and free of charge.
On Oct. 26, seven students from Bear Creek and one Middle School student performed on stage at the Hershey Theatre as members of the Festival Strings Orchestra.
Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the nation. This year's theme is "Life is Your Journey. Travel Drug Free." In partnership with Elizabethtown Area Communities That Care (EACTC), all student's in the Elizabethtown Area School District will be participating in and celebrating Red Ribbon Week starting Monday, Oct. 22.
The EASD will hold its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Friday, Nov. 9 to honor our community’s military veterans. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Elizabethtown Area High School auditorium.
At the beginning of each school year, Elizabethtown Area School District holds Back-to-School Parent Nights at each of its school buildings. Back-to-School Parent Nights are a wonderful opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet the teachers and administrators, to see their child’s classroom and special area rooms, and to learn first-hand valuable information to make the school year a success.
EASD invites the greater-Elizabethtown community to a presentation titled: RETHINKING LEADERSHIP. This engaging evening is open to our parents and interested community members and will focus on student empowerment. It will be held August 21 beginning at 6:15 PM in the EAMS Auditorium
