Commencement 2025 Candid

Elizabethtown Area High School proudly honored the Class of 2025 during its annual commencement ceremony held Thursday, June 5, at the LCBC Manheim Campus. A total of 318 seniors graduated as part of this year’s Class, including several students who participated in a winter ceremony held earlier in the academic year. The graduates, dressed in traditional blue robes, were led into the auditorium by the class officers. Valedictorian Austin Risser and salutatorian Jacqueline Raybold addressed their classmates, offering heartfelt reflections on their high school journey and words of encouragement for the future.

Bear Creek School Senior Walk

As part of graduation week activities, members of the Elizabethtown Area High School Class of 2025 participated in the district’s annual Senior Walks. The tradition allows graduating seniors to return to the buildings where they began their academic journeys. The week began on Monday, June 2, with seniors visiting East High Street Elementary School. On Wednesday, June 4, students who attended Bainbridge Elementary School returned for their walk-through. The week concluded on Thursday, June 5, as the entire Class of 2025 visited Bear Creek School and the Elizabethtown Area Secondary School campus.

The Elizabethtown Area School District is proud to announce that two of its high school agriculture education teachers, Mark Anderson and Stephen Geib, have been nominated for prestigious statewide honors by the Pennsylvania Association of Agricultural Educators. The awards are presented annually at the PAAE Summer Conference, where agricultural educators from across the state gather for professional development and to celebrate excellence in the field.

Elizabethtown Area High School’s Esports Team made history by capturing its first-ever Pennsylvania Interscholastic Esports Association (PIEA) State Championship in Overwatch! The championship match, held at Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA, pitted Etown against a skilled Westmont Hilltop squad in a high-stakes showdown that tested the team’s focus and resilience.

Elizabethtown Area High School’s Bears Bakers program recently wrapped up another year, serving nearly 2,000 muffins to more than 80 staff members in the high school complex. This mini-business allows students to learn job-related skills through the process of baking and delivering muffins.

Elizabethtown Area High School proudly recognized the achievements of its Navy National Defense Cadet Corps (NNDCC) cadets during the annual NNDCC Award Ceremony held on Wednesday, May 28. The celebration honored cadets who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic excellence, service, personal appearance, and military bearing throughout the year.

Third graders from Bear Creek School wrapped up their school year with a literary visit to East High Street Elementary. The young readers of Bear Creek’s book club spent time with second-grade students, sharing their favorite stories and inspiring a love for books.

On Tuesday, May 27, first-grade students in Tiffany Doughty’s class at East High Street Elementary School welcomed a special guest to build on their Junior Achievement unit on jobs, businesses, and community. Retired Elizabethtown Area Middle School art teacher Cindy Telenko, owner and founder of The Twisted Easel, etc. here in Elizabethtown, visited the classroom to share how her business helps make the community unique and vibrant.
