Overview
Elizabethtown Area School District provides a continuum of free and appropriate services for students determined to be eligible for special education without discrimination or cost to the student or family.  Special Education services are available to all students K through 12. The student is provided related aids, services, or accommodations in order for the student to participate in and obtain the benefits of the school program and activities.  Students are educated in the Least Restrictive Environment to the greatest extent appropriate for that child.  
 
To qualify as a student with a disability, the student must be evaluated by the school district's multidisciplinary team, be school age, in need of specially designed instruction, and meet eligibility criteria of one or more of the following physical or mental disabilities, as indicated by Pennsylvania State Standards:

• Blindness/Visual Impairment
• Deafness/Hearing Impairment
• Deaf Blindness
• Orthopedic Impairment
• Multiple Disabilities
• Traumatic Brain Injury
• Intellectual Disability
• Other Health Impairment
• Emotional Disturbance
• Specific Learning Disability
• Speech or Language Impairment
