    Looking for volunteer hours?  Want to have a great experience working with young children?  Then the Bigs & Littles program may be just right for you. Bigs & Littles is a mentoring program that matches up a high school student to serve as a role model and friend, with an elementary student from East High Street Elementary.  A representative from the Lancaster YMCA who is sponsoring the program will be in the high school cafeteria on Thursday, September 27 during lunches with more information.





    If you are interested in going to Costa Rica in June, come to the meeting on Wednesday September 26 in Mrs. Jennings' room 1235 at 6:30 PM.  People who are registered for the trip do not have to attend this meeting.



    October 9th during Flex/Homeroom current 11th-grade students that are interested in CTC programs are invited to attend a presentation. The CTC representation will be discussing 12th-grade programs.  CTC Tours for 11th graders will start in October, so stay tuned.




    Open Gym for Junior High boys basketball will be every Monday and Thursday starting October 1st. Open gym will be from 4-5:30 and be held at Bear Creek.

     

     

    Height, Weight, and Vision screenings for all grade levels will be done on Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th, and Thursday 27th this week from 8 am. to 2:30 pm. We will call students done by the first letter of their last name to the Auditorium. Please remind students to bring their glasses with them to the screenings.




    Attention everyone 16 and older.  If you are interested in joining the Habitat for Humanity club to help build or renovate homes for those less fortunate in Lancaster, come see what it's about.  We will be meeting on Thursday, September 27 during Flex in Mr. Shenk's room, 2360 in the 9th grade hallway.




    Varsity Cheer Competition team evaluations will be held on September 25th and 26th from 4:00-6:00 in the Old HS gym.




    EAHS Homecoming Dance Information:

    Date:  Saturday, October 13th

    Where:  Bear Creek Elementary - Cafeteria

    Time:  7 - 10 pm.

    Cost:   $10 per ticket

    Ticket Sale Times:   In Bus Lobby of HS, before Flex in mornings October 8, 9, 10, 11, 12th.  Student Council reps will also visit HR’s this week during Flex as well, or see Mr. Telenko in AM this week in hallway near HS room 1730.  No ticket sales at door.




    Out-of District Forms  for the Homecoming Dance are now available in the HS office. Forms need to be completed and returned by October 9th at 3 pm with a copy of the guest’s photo id.



    Preliminary Homecoming Court Ballots for King and Queen will be distributed by Senior homeroom teachers and at AM bus loop for Senior CTC students Monday or Tuesday 24/25th.  Completed preliminary ballots should be returned to HR teacher or to the HS office no later than Wednesday 26th at 3 pm.




    Do you like to be challenged?  Are you determined? Always trying to solve problems?  Like being creative, then please join us at the Destination Imagination informative meeting on September 27, 2018 at 6:00pm - 8:00pm Middle School cafeteria auditorium.  Here is where you will be challenged and challenge others, show off your creative skills and watch your unique ideas be a dream come true.

    Paws & Think will meet for the first time this Wednesday, September 26th during Flex in the Old Gym. Any student that signed up at the activities fair should plan to attend this meeting. If you did not sign up at the activities fair and are interested in finding out more about the club, stop by Mr. Boland's room, 1330, for a pass to attend the meeting.




    Counseling Corner week of September 24-28

    Transportation is being provided to Masonic Village Career Shadow Day in which students can select 2 different careers to shadow on October 16  including health care, dentistry, therapy, fiance/accounting, landscaping, security to name a few. Turn in completed Permission Slip to the counseling office by October 4.  This is a great way to meet Career & Finance shadow requirements!

    The counseling dept is still accepting permission slips for  Construction Day and Health Care Exploration Day until this Friday, 9/28.

    Attention Juniors:  Lancaster General Hospital will be accepting applications for the Winter Teen Volunteer Program from September 17- October 5.  If interested, do not delay!

    The PSATs will be offered here at Elizabethtown Area High School on Wednesday October 10th. Students interested in potentially attending a 4 year college after high school should consider taking it. Students who want to sign up for the PSATs should do so in the Counseling office beginning on Monday Sept. 10th and by no later Thursday Oct. 4th.  The cost of the test is $15 any checks should be made payable to EASD. Students must pay to sign up. Tests are limited and available on a first come first serve basis.  

    Attention Juniors and Seniors:  The following colleges/military branch are scheduled to visit the HS, if you are interested in meeting with any of them, please sign up in the the book outside the Counseling Office.  A pass will be in your homeroom the morning of the visit.
