The Elizabethtown Area School District is proud to be an award-winning public school system. Located 20 miles from Harrisburg and Lancaster, the District is situated in picturesque Lancaster County and is easily accessible by major roadways and the rail system.
Roughly 500 full and part-time employees support nearly 3,800 students in the District's three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The District's curriculum is structured to provide opportunities that enable all students to graduate ready to live, learn, and thrive in a global community. It is developed, analyzed, and renewed on an ongoing basis to provide optimal learning experiences for all students.
The District's LIFE READY MODEL (www.etownschools.org/LifeReadyModel) is the foundation for our educational program. The Life Ready Model focuses on our students and their hopes and dreams. It is about providing them with the environment, experiences, and opportunities they need for success in their futures. Our role is to help each student attain the knowledge, skills, social and emotional resiliency, and civic awareness necessary to be in a position to successfully pursue at least one of the following paths after graduating from high school:- Obtain a career that pays a livable wage.
- Attend a postsecondary institution to further their education.
- Seek an opportunity in our nation's armed forces.
