About EASD

  • The Elizabethtown Area School District is proud to be an award-winning public school system. Located 20 miles from Harrisburg and Lancaster, the District is situated in picturesque Lancaster County and is easily accessible by major roadways and the rail system.

Around 3,900 students are educated by roughly 500 full and part-time faculty, support staff, and administrators in the district’s five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The District's curriculum is structured to provide opportunities that enable all students to graduate ready to live, learn and thrive in a global community. It is developed, analyzed, and renewed on an ongoing basis to provide optimal learning experiences for all students.

The educational program is predicated on our LIFE READY MODEL, which is designed to prepare our students to have the knowledge, skills, social and emotional resiliency, and civic awareness necessary to be in a position to successfully pursue at least one of the following paths after graduating from our high school:

    • Obtain a career that pays a livable wage.
    • Attend a postsecondary institution to further their education.
    • Seek an opportunity in our nation’s armed forces.

The District is committed to using technology as a tool in the classrooms to support student learning (CLICK HERE for EASD Technology Services). Whether it is supporting proficiency plans, improving communication, or boosting learning, technology plays a critical role in the delivery of instruction in Elizabethtown Area schools.
