The District's solar field consists of 2,000 panels covering approximately two acres. These panels produce enough electricity to power 59 homes, have a 40-year life expectancy, and provide the district around $100,000 a year in electricity bill savings.

The District's EOP is built on national best practices enabling staff to take swift action in an emergency. The plan helps our faculty, administration, and support prepare for, address, and recover from environmental, technological, and human-caused threats. Examples of events addressed in our plan include fire, flood, severe weather, transportation accidents, intruders, and threats.

Thanks to our technology department's service strategies and technical expertise, the thoughtful and reliable use of technology plays a huge part in supporting student learning and efficient operations.

We believe that all employees, regardless of their role within the District, must take ownership of student well-being, growth, and learning by being highly engaged, caring, and committed to the District's vision and mission.

Providing our student-athletes with industry-standard playing surfaces is essential. Doing so benefits EASD athletic programs and the many community youth programs that use our playing environments.

Over the last five years, EASD has instituted numerous cost-cutting measures related to energy, including outfitting all light fixtures in our facilities with LED lighting, installing a solar array, and optimizing HVAC systems.

The District website is used to promote student and staff achievements, educate the public on educational goals and opportunities, and increase interest in our school system among parents and non-parents.

The open records act, through the right-to-know request process, helps to make the work of our school district transparent by ensuring and facilitating the public's right of access to and review of eligible government records.

We are committed to being good stewards of our resources and to sound long-range financial planning. In doing so, we will be best positioned to preserve the programs/services that matter the most, to provide new opportunities for our students, and to fund future building projects.

Research suggests that successful school breakfast and lunch programs support student learning and behavior, as well as improve attention spans and overall health.

Providing students with a welcoming learning environment that is safe, bright, and clean is a key ingredient to our students’ academic successes. It is through the expertise and skilled craftsmanship of our buildings and grounds staff that we are able to accomplish this objective.

These devices allow our students to attend virtual field trips, video conference with guest speakers all across the country and world, and collaborate in real time with students in other buildings.

EASD leverages social media to open our doors (virtually) to our stakeholders, build public awareness of our success and challenges, and to establish a stronger connection with our community in support of student learning.
