Assessment Information (Keystone, PSSA, Civics, Other)

  • Keystone Exams
    All students currently enrolled in one of the designated subject areas - Algebra 1, Biology, and English Literature - are required to take the 2022-2023 assessments in the respective subject area upon completion of the course. Limited opt-out exemptions are available (see parent FAQ document below).

    Testing Window

    • January 4-18 - Algebra 1, Biology, English Literature (EAHS students only)
    • May 15-26 - Algebra 1, Biology, English Literature (EAMS and EAHS students only)

    Important Testing Information for Parents

     

    Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA)
    All students at the designated grade levels are required to take the Spring 2023 assessments in each subject area. Limited opt-out exemptions are available (see parent FAQ document below).

    Testing Window

    • April 24-28 - English Language Arts (Grades 3-8)
    • May 1-12 - Mathematics (Grades 3-8)
    • May 1-12 - Science (Grades 4 & 8)

    Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)
    The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military.

    Testing Window

    • October 27 (optional...for interested high school students only)

    Important Testing Information for Parents

     

    Civics Knowledge Assessment
    In 2018, Governor Tom Wolf signed into law Act 35 of 2018 which requires that all school entities administer a locally developed assessment of U.S. history, government, and civics at least once to students during grades 7-12, beginning with the 2020-2021 school year.

    • Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 (dates to be determined)
