The Elizabethtown Area School District named Linda Ahern its Athletic Director at the April 9, 2013 meeting of the school directors. Ms. Ahern has been employed by the district since 1975. From 1978 to her hiring as AD, she has served as a school counselor at the secondary level.
In addition to her knowledge of the school district, community, and its students, Ms. Ahern brings vast experience in the world of interscholastic athletics. She was the high school’s head coach for girls basketball (1980-1982) and field hockey (2005-2007). She also served as an assistant coach in field hockey (1979-1989, 2007-2009) and track (1976-1984). When not coaching, Ms. Ahern has played a key support role for the department during her years at Elizabethtown serving as Co-Assistant Athletic Director, a game manager, scorekeeper, and member of the security team since 1978.

Some key characteristics we were looking for in our next AD included knowledge of our community, a dedication to our student-athletes, someone that could effectively build collaborations with the various stakeholders associated with youth sports, and someone that could lead and grow our athletic department,” said Dr. Michele Balliet, Superintendent. “I can confidently say that Linda Ahern epitomizes that description and while she has always been a valued member of our E-town team. We are thrilled to have her join our administrative team in this capacity.”
Ms. Ahern holds a bachelor of science degree from Lock Haven University and master of education from Millersville University. She was the manager of Willowood Swim Club from 2005-2012.
