Parent Request - Non-Public School Transportation
Non-Public School Transportation
To ensure compliance with State regulations as governed by Act 372 of the PA School Code, the Elizabethtown Area School District will annually require a request from every parent/guardian for each student desiring transportation. This new procedure is a departure from the prior practice of receiving a roster of students directly from your school.
The District will only transport students who have a completed Student Transportation Request Form on file.
The non-public school must be nonprofit and located within ten miles of the District’s boundary, measured by the nearest public road. If the school building in which the pupil is enrolled is not located within the ten-mile distance, the non-public pupil is not eligible for transportation, nor are his parents eligible for payment towards transportation costs.
Please note that to be implemented for the first day of school, this form must be received by the Elizabethtown Area School District Transportation Department before July 31. Between August 1 and September 5, the transportation department must prioritize route planning, bus stop letters for families, driver training, and students without a bus schedule. During this period, the District will hold requests for alternative care, dual custody, and non-public transportation. The District will process requests submitted during this time frame in the order they are received beginning September 6. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
