Parent Request - Alternate Bus Stop
Alternate Bus Stop Requests
Alternate Care Transportation
The Elizabethtown Area School District allows parents to request school transportation to and from an alternate site instead of the student's residence. An alternate site can be:
- A babysitter's home.
- A daycare center.
- Another facility where parents drop off or pick up their child each school day.
Parents who wish to request alternate transportation for their child must complete the Alternate Transportation Request form (see link below). A new form must be completed each school year and comply with the conditions outlined below. To ensure implementation by the first day of school, the form must be received by the Elizabethtown Area School District Transportation Department by July 31 for the alternate care stop to go into effect for the start of the school year. Requests received after July 31 will not be processed until early September at the earliest.
- The alternate site must be located within Elizabethtown Area School District boundaries and for elementary school students, be located within their assigned school’s attendance zone.
- Parents may only identify one alternative stop for each bus route (one AM, one PM) and forgo having their child transported to their residence for that school bus run.
- The alternate stop must be for an existing school bus route at a designated school bus stop and the school bus must have capacity to add the student as a passenger.
- Parents may select a different site for the AM and PM bus run, however, once those choices are made, those sites cannot be changed, swapped or altered.
- Request forms must be completed each school year, approved requests will not carry over from one school year to the next.
- If extenuating circumstances exist and mid-year changes are sought, a new request form must be submitted to the transportation office for consideration.
- Requests must be for five days a week Monday-Friday.
