Elizabethtown Area School District Welcomes Back Professional and Support Staff for a Day of Celebration and Goal Setting

The Elizabethtown Area School District warmly welcomed back its professional and support staff today for a day filled with celebration, reconnection, and refocus. The event emphasized team building, professional development, and goal setting as the District prepares for the upcoming school year.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Karen Nell, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Daphne Kirkpatrick, and Assistant to the Superintendent Richard Schwarzman led the opening session. They were joined by Dr. Nate Frank, Coordinator of Curriculum and Federal Programs, as well as the District's team of principals, including Dr. Jason D'Amico (High School Principal), Dr. David Beard (Middle School Principal), Dr. Jeremy Stetler (Bear Creek School Principal), Amanda Baxter (Bainbridge Elementary Principal), Megan Moffett (East High Street Elementary Principal), and Dr. Walter Smith (Director of Special Education).

During the morning session, the leadership team shared the District's strategic direction for the year ahead, reviewed key data points such as PSSA and Keystone Exam results, and highlighted the work done by the administrative team over the summer to enhance instructional leadership. A central theme of the day was the importance of cultivating a positive mindset, with an emphasis on the belief that every student has the potential to succeed.

The afternoon saw professional staff returning to their respective schools, collaborating with administrators to ensure a strong start to the 2024-2025 school year.

A reminder that the first day of school for grades 1-12 is August 26 and will be an early dismissal day. Kindergarten begins on August 28.
