The Elizabethtown Area School District proudly recognized twenty-three exceptional faculty and staff members during a special retirement celebration held in conjunction with the April 2025 school board action meeting. These dedicated professionals were honored for their contributions and commitment to the District.
“We are grateful for the tremendous impact these individuals have had on our students, schools, and community,” said Dr. Nell. “Together, they represent nearly 560 years of combined service and a legacy that will resonate for years to come.”
2024–2025 Elizabethtown Area School District Retirees:
- Lisa Bohanick most recently served as a fourth-grade teacher. She was employed by the district from 1992 to 2025.
- Nancy Brosius worked in the Food Services department. She served the district from 2004 to 2024.
- Carl Dupes was a valued member of the maintenance department. He served the district from 2010 to 2024.
- Brenda Eshelman worked in the custodial department. She served the district from 2004 to 2025.
- Phillip Fisher was also part of the custodial team. He served the district from 2004 to 2025.
- Debra Gainer served as the administrative assistant in the high school counseling office. She worked for the district from 2002 to 2025.
- Nancy Grundhoffer most recently served as an English Language Development teacher at the elementary level. She was with the district from 2000 to 2025.
- James Halter worked in the custodial department. He served the district from 2012 to 2024.
- Marilyn Hartman worked in the Food Services department. She served the district from 1993 to 2024.
- Susan Hoffman served as a technology specialist. She was employed by the district from 2000 to 2024.
- Wendy Houser most recently worked as a reading specialist. She served the district from 1990 to 2024.
- Gary Meyerhoffer was a member of the maintenance department. He served the district from 1998 to 2024.
- Donna Nilsen served as a reading specialist. She worked for the district from 2000 to 2025.
- Christina Oscsodal most recently worked as an English Language Development teacher at the high school. She served the district from 2009 to 2025.
- James Sostack was a high school social studies teacher. He worked in the district from 1991 to 2025.
- John Spittal also taught social studies at the high school level. He served the district from 1992 to 2025.
- David Tyson was employed in the maintenance department. He served the district from 1998 to 2025.
- Michele Tyson most recently served as a first-grade teacher. She worked in the district from 2000 to 2025.
- Beth Vertucci served as a special education consultant. She was with the district from 2003 to 2025.
- Jacques Viau most recently served as principal at Bear Creek School. He worked for the district from 2006 to 2024.
- Katherine Vosburg was a special education teacher. She served the district from 2007 to 2025.
- Erick Wittemann taught social studies at the middle school. He served the district from 1993 to 2025.
- Donna Zartman was the administrative assistant to the buildings and grounds department. She worked for the district from 1999 to 2025.
