Elizabethtown Area Middle School is thrilled to announce the incredible success of this year's Feathers for Families initiative, raising an impressive $3,700.11 to support local families in need. These funds were used to create 22 Thanksgiving food baskets, each packed with all the essentials for a memorable holiday meal.
Since its inception in 1995, Feathers for Families has grown from raising $750 in its first year to this year’s total. As part of the tradition, students and staff sold paper feathers throughout November, creating a giant paper turkey in the school’s food court to symbolize the generosity of the community.
This initiative is a true team effort, with students playing an active role in purchasing feathers, shopping for food at a local supermarket, assembling baskets, and working alongside faculty and staff to deliver them to families in need.
EAMS extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this year’s success. Thanks to the unwavering support of our school and community, we’re proud to help make the holiday season brighter for so many families.
