Elizabethtown Area Middle School Educator Named Finalist for 2026 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year

Elizabethtown Area School District is proud to announce that Jenna Love, a dedicated sixth-grade social studies teacher at Elizabethtown Area Middle School, has been named one of just twelve statewide finalists for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's 2026 Teacher of the Year—a distinction that places her among the very best educators across the state.

This prestigious honor, coordinated through the National State Teacher of the Year (NSTOY) program, celebrates exemplary teaching and classroom practices. Each year, the Pennsylvania Department of Education selects teachers who not only ignite a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities but also earn the admiration and respect of colleagues, families, and the broader school community.

Jenna joined the Elizabethtown Area School District in August 2019 and quickly established herself as a student-centered, passionate educator. In addition to her role in the classroom, she serves as an advisor for several student clubs, fostering inclusive, engaging experiences that extend learning beyond school hours.

"Ask anyone if they remember the teacher who inspired them most, and nearly everyone will immediately smile and name an educator from their past," said Acting Secretary of Education Dr. Carrie Rowe. "Excellent educators make a lifelong impact on the learners they serve each day in classrooms across the Commonwealth, and these 12 finalists demonstrate the qualities needed in a great teacher—supportive, engaged, and passionate about the learners in their care."

"We are incredibly proud of Mrs. Love for being selected as a finalist for the Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year program," said Elizabethtown Area Middle School Principal Dr. David Beard. "Mrs. Love exemplifies the excellence we strive for every day at Etown Area Middle School, and we are honored to have such an inspiring educator as part of our team!"

The 2026 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year will be announced at a special awards ceremony in December 2025. The recipient will go on to serve as the Commonwealth's education ambassador, representing Pennsylvania at a variety of local, regional, and national events, including the National Teacher of the Year ceremony at the White House.

Jenna's selection as a finalist is a testament to the outstanding educators who shape the Elizabethtown Area School District and underscores the district's deep commitment to educational excellence. We congratulate her on this incredible achievement and are proud to see her talents recognized on such a prominent stage.
