Elizabethtown Area High School Students Gain Real-World Experience Through Mock Interviews

Career and Finance students at Elizabethtown Area High School recently participated in the course’s mock interview event, an interactive learning experience designed to provide practical insight into the hiring process. This simulation closely mirrored real-world job interviews, giving students a hands-on opportunity to refine their interview techniques in a supportive environment.

Each student took part in a 15-minute interview conducted by a team of thirty community volunteers, where they showcased their preparation, professionalism, and ability to respond confidently to scripted questions. Following the interview, students received constructive feedback on their communication skills, presentation, and overall performance, helping them fine-tune their approach for future career opportunities.

To prepare for the event, students developed job portfolios, including a cover letter, resume, and reference list, which served as the foundation for their interviews. By engaging with local professionals, students gained exposure to diverse perspectives and workplace expectations, enhancing their understanding of professional interactions.

This experience plays a key role in equipping students with the skills and confidence needed to navigate the job market successfully. Through meaningful real-world practice and direct feedback, the mock interview event continues to be an essential part of the Career and Finance curriculum, preparing students for success in their future careers.
