Elizabethtown Area High School Red Cross Club Hosts Successful Blood Drive

Elizabethtown Area High School’s Red Cross Club, in partnership with the local American Red Cross, held a successful blood drive today, resulting in donations from forty individuals, including students, faculty, support staff, and administrators. This student-led initiative showcased the Club’s mission to empower students to serve their community through volunteer work, education, and leadership development.

The Red Cross Club offers its members opportunities to support the broader mission of the American Red Cross. Through efforts like organizing blood drives and raising awareness about emergency preparedness, students actively contribute to causes impacting their local community and those in need globally. In addition, club members gain valuable leadership skills, earn service hours, and develop a deep sense of civic responsibility.

A dedicated team of officers leads the Club:

  • Lillian Ross, the Club’s founder and president
  • Aiden Kay, vice president
  • Caylin Rotondo, secretary
  • Sadie Givens, press coordinator.

Following the event, American Red Cross representative Jill Hess thanked the Club’s officers and members, including students Makenzi McFeaters, Anika Walsh, and Paige Shoemaker, for their hard work and commitment. Social studies teacher James Safford serves as the Club’s faculty advisor.
