Elizabethtown Area High School Chess Club Excels at Lancaster Scholastic Chess League Tournament

The Elizabethtown Area High School Chess Club showcased its talent at the Lancaster Scholastic Chess League Individual Tournament, competing against over 50 players from both public and private schools across Lancaster County.

The team, led by faculty advisors Joel Caputo and Jessica Henry, included Cameron Elder, Caleb Fuge, Joshua Garber, Lucas Hoover, Margaret Leaman, Riley Logan, Jacob Schaber, Patrick Smith, and Nathaniel Wagner. Six members—Cameron, Caleb, Joshua, Lucas, Riley, and Patrick—took part in the individual competition.

Cameron capped off a dominant season by winning all six of his matches, securing the tournament championship and finishing the year with a perfect 22-0 record. Caleb placed second, losing only to his teammate Cameron. For the season, Caleb's only defeat came against Cameron, highlighting the strength of Elizabethtown's chess program.

Congratulations to all participants on a fantastic season!
