Elizabethtown Area High School Announces June Rotary Club Students of the Month

Elizabethtown Area High School is proud to announce its June Rotary Club Students of the Month: Lillian Ross and Cooper Torborg. This distinction recognizes students who exemplify outstanding academic achievement, leadership, character, and a commitment to serving others both in and out of the classroom.

Lillian is the daughter of Melissa Ross of Elizabethtown.

Lillian Ross

Lillian is a dedicated scholar and student leader at Elizabethtown Area High School. She was named a National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalist in 2025, placing her among the top academic performers in the nation and reflecting her commitment to academic excellence and leadership. She is a proud member of the National Honor Society, recognized for her outstanding achievements in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Lillian has also earned numerous academic distinctions through the school’s underclassmen awards program, including the Music Theory Award, Algebra I Award, Career & Finance Award, AP Macroeconomics Award, AP/CHS Psychology Award, Honors Chemistry I Award, and Honors Chemistry II Award.

Outside of the classroom, Lillian is the founder and president of the Red Cross Club and serves as president of the Model United Nations Club. She is a member of the National Honor Society and performs in the school’s Music Club as a flute and piccolo player.

In the community, Lillian is a research intern at Elizabethtown College. She is also a principal dancer and teaching assistant at Silver Spring Dance Conservatory. Lillian has earned numerous community achievements, including being invited to present her research at Dynamics Days 2025 in Denver and receiving the PA Outstanding Youth Award from the American Red Cross. She was also honored with the Blood Drive Leadership Award and the Elizabethtown DAR Good Citizen Award. Lillian works as a crew trainer at McDonald’s.

Looking ahead, Lillian plans to attend a four-year university to major in biochemistry and eventually earn a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, with the goal of pursuing a career in medical research.

Cooper is the son of Ryan and Tessa Torborg of Marietta.

Cooper Torborg

Cooper is a respected student leader and active contributor to the school community and his church. A member of the National Honor Society, he exemplifies excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Cooper’s leadership and academic excellence earned him the Administrative Leadership Award for the 2023-2024 school year and underclassmen awards in Business/Personal Law, Honors Algebra 2, Honors General Science, and French II. He has been named to the Honor Roll every semester of high school.


Cooper is active in the school community, serving as a leader of both the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Bible Club. He is also a member of the Student Council, a mentor for incoming freshmen through the Jumpstart program, and participates in volleyball, orchestra, pit orchestra, and concert choir. As a student-athlete, he has been named a Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 Volleyball All-Star twice and received an honorable mention on the District 3 All-Star team. He is also a four-time participant in the County Orchestra.

In the community, Cooper is an active member of Mount Calvary Church, where he serves in the children’s ministry every Sunday and participates in the church youth group. He also performs in a local band, playing violin, guitar, and singing. Cooper plays club volleyball for Prevail Volleyball Club. Cooper works as a server at Masonic Village, where he helps create a welcoming and respectful environment for residents and guests.

Following graduation, Cooper plans to attend college to pursue a degree in business with a focus on information technology.
