Elizabethtown Area High School proudly announces Maryjane Van Arsdale as the Elizabethtown Lions Club Student of the Month for November. This distinguished recognition honors a Lancaster County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC) student who demonstrates exceptional work ethic, skill, and knowledge in their chosen field.
Maryjane, a senior at the Mount Joy campus of LCCTC, is the daughter of Anthony Van Arsdale and Samantha McCauley of Bainbridge.
Maryjane's passion for welding began at a young age when her father introduced her to the craft through hands-on projects. This early exposure ignited her interest, and she chose to pursue Welding as a career pathway in her junior year at LCCTC.
In her senior year, Maryjane expanded her skill set by enrolling in the Precision Machining program to further diversify her expertise and increase her opportunities in the welding industry. Maryjane is especially drawn to the artistic and creative aspects of welding, finding it to be a fulfilling outlet for her talents.
Beyond her technical achievements, Maryjane has demonstrated remarkable leadership abilities. She has been an active member of the Student Ambassador Leadership program at Mount Joy CTC for the past two years and was recently named President of SkillsUSA, a role in which she continues to excel.
Looking ahead, Maryjane plans to pursue a career in the welding field and is eager to start an API CoOp position soon, where she hopes to further develop her skills and launch her professional journey.
