Bear Creek Students Take Part in the "Running of the Bears" Fun(d) Run

On Monday, May 12, Bear Creek School hosted its much-anticipated annual Fun(d) Run, affectionately known as the "Running of the Bears." This high-energy event, organized by the school's Parent-Teacher Organization, brought students, staff, and families together for a day filled with fitness, fun, friendship, and lasting memories—all in support of enhancing student experiences.

Students from all grade levels participated by walking, jogging, or running laps along a half-mile cross-country course featuring engaging activity stations. The course, designed by Bear Creek's dedicated physical education teachers Kelly Black and Andy Klose, encouraged students to challenge themselves while having a blast.

This year's fundraiser set a goal of $20,000, and as of today, the event has already raised over $16,200, with donations still coming in. All proceeds go directly toward educational programs, school supplies, and family-focused events like assemblies, student celebrations, and school community nights.

The event's success was made possible by about 25 incredible volunteers who partnered with staff to support stations, cheer on students, and keep the day running smoothly. Their energy helped make the 2025 Running of the Bears a memorable celebration for everyone involved.

There's still time to give! Families and community members can support the cause at: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/therunning1.
