Bear Creek School Hosts Day of Giving to Support Local Community

On Friday, November 22, faculty, staff, and administration from Bear Creek School participated in an inspiring Day of Giving. This special afternoon program was designed to enable the Bear Creek team to give back to the Elizabethtown community beyond the school walls.

As part of the Day of Giving, teams of Bear Creek employees spread out across the area to participate in various service projects, demonstrating their commitment to fostering a strong, supportive community. Activities included:

  • Visiting ECHOS (Elizabethtown Community Housing and Outreach Services) to clean the shelter, make beds, and organize the pantry.
  • Honoring first responders, including the police, fire departments, and local EMS.
  • Cleaning and organizing the Bear Bags Food Pantry.
  • Playing games and spending time with children at the GEARS Kids Center.
  • Decorating Bear Creek School for the holiday season.
  • Assisting with holiday decorations at Masonic Village at Elizabethtown.
  • Raking leaves for senior citizens in the community.
  • Supporting operations at the Cornerstone Youth Center.

The Day of Giving highlights the District’s Community Connections pillar, which emphasizes nurturing meaningful relationships with the broader community and instilling the values of service and compassion among its team.
