Registration Open for Elizabethtown Summer Strings Camp

Students in grades 4-12 are invited to participate in the Elizabethtown Summer Strings Camp, a two-week program led by Mr. Justin McLaughlin and Mr. Rich Winey at Bear Creek School from August 17-28.

Designed for students of all ability levels - from beginners just starting their musical journey to advanced performers preparing for another successful year - the camp provides a fun and supportive environment for students to develop their skills and make music together.

For beginners, the camp offers an excellent opportunity to begin learning essential string instrument techniques before school lessons start in the fall. Intermediate and advanced students can refresh their skills, reconnect with fellow musicians, and build on the momentum of last year's successful performances.

Tentative Schedule

Mondays & Wednesdays

  • Beginner Group: 4:15–5:30 p.m.
  • Intermediate Group: 5:45–7:00 p.m.

  • Accelerated Advanced Group: 5:45–7:00 p.m.

Group placement will be determined by Mr. McLaughlin and Mr. Winey by the end of July based on grade level, lesson and rehearsal attendance, progress, ability level, and enrollment.

All participating students are expected to attend all sessions and will be featured in a casual recital on Friday, August 28, at 6:00 p.m. at Bear Creek School.

The cost is $50 per student, payable by check to Mr. McLaughlin on the first day of camp. Scholarships are available for families who may need financial assistance.
