Elizabethtown Area Middle School is proud to recognize its January Students of the Month, celebrating students who demonstrate strong character, leadership, and personal growth. Each month, teachers reflect on the students in their teams through the lens of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, identifying those who exemplify a particular habit or who have shown meaningful growth in that area.
For January, the focus was on Habit 4 – Think Win-Win, which emphasizes the belief that everyone can succeed and that there is enough success and opportunity to go around. Students who practice Think Win-Win celebrate the successes of others, show kindness and respect toward their peers, and seek solutions that benefit everyone involved. This habit teaches students to balance the courage to pursue their own goals with consideration for the needs and wants of others. When conflicts arise, they work toward outcomes where everyone can benefit—understanding that success is not “me vs. you,” but “us together.”
This recognition program is part of the school’s Leader in Me initiative, which focuses on developing leadership skills, strengthening positive relationships, and encouraging students to take ownership of their choices throughout the school year.
