Elizabethtown Area Middle School Recognizes April Students of the Month

Elizabethtown Area Middle School is proud to recognize its April Students of the Month, honoring students who demonstrate strong character, leadership, and personal growth. This recognition is part of the school’s Leader in Me initiative, which promotes leadership development, positive relationships, and student ownership throughout the school year. Each month, teachers reflect on students within their teams through the lens of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, identifying those who exemplify a specific habit or who have shown meaningful growth in that area.

For April, the focus was on Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw, which emphasizes the importance of self-care and personal growth. Sharpening the Saw means taking time to care for ourselves physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially so we can perform at our best. It is about maintaining balance and managing responsibilities while also prioritizing rest, wellness, relationships, and creativity.

The students recognized this month consistently demonstrated an understanding of the importance of overall well-being. They made thoughtful choices to support their health and growth, set personal goals, and showed commitment to continuous improvement. These students modeled balance by staying engaged in their learning while also fostering positive relationships and maintaining healthy habits.
