The vocal talents of five Elizabethtown Area High School (EAHS) students were on display at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 7 Chorus Festival, held January 9–10, 2026, at Boiling Springs High School.
Selected through a highly competitive audition process, the EAHS students represented a range of voice parts:
- Alto: Elaina Smith (Alto 2)
- Bass: Ben Creason (Bass 1)
- Tenor: Stephen Fasick (Tenor 1), Hayden Simione (Tenor 2)
- Soprano: Makayla Weaver (Soprano 1)
The festival chorus brought together approximately 215 of the region’s most accomplished student vocalists. Under the direction of Dr. Craig Denison, Director of Choirs at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, the ensemble rehearsed and performed a program designed to challenge and develop each participant’s musical skills.
Participation in the PMEA District 7 Chorus Festival is a significant honor, highlighting the dedication, talent, and hard work of EAHS students. The experience also provides invaluable opportunities for musical growth, allowing students to collaborate with peers from across the region while learning from a distinguished conductor.
PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization committed to advancing high-quality music education in schools and communities. Its mission focuses on promoting comprehensive and innovative music instruction through excellent teaching, rigorous learning, and meaningful musical engagement for all students.
The EAHS students are supported and mentored by Benjamin Fortier, choral director at Elizabethtown Area High School, whose leadership continues to foster excellence in the school’s choral program.
