At a special awards ceremony on Monday, December 8, 2025, the Pennsylvania Department of Education formally recognized Elizabethtown Area School District sixth-grade social studies teacher Jenna Love as one of twelve distinguished finalists in the 2026 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year Program, a prestigious statewide honor coordinated through the National State Teacher of the Year initiative. Ms. Love was initially announced as a finalist last spring, joining a select group of educators celebrated for exemplary teaching practices and a profound commitment to student success.
During the ceremony, the Pennsylvania Department of Education honored all finalists and named the statewide winner. While Ms. Love did not receive the top honor, she was awarded the Keystone Award of Excellence, recognizing her remarkable ability to ignite a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities. This award highlights educators who demonstrate outstanding instructional skill, leadership, and dedication to fostering meaningful, inclusive learning experiences.
“We are honored to have Jenna among our remarkable team, and we are incredibly proud of her achievement,” said Dr. Karen Nell, Superintendent of Schools, who accompanied Ms. Love to the ceremony. “Her passion for teaching and her commitment to students exemplify the energy and dedication we see across our entire district. This recognition not only celebrates Jenna’s exceptional work but also reflects the collective strength of our faculty, who show up each day to create engaging and transformative learning experiences for our students.”
Ms. Love’s recognition as a Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year finalist underscores her dedication to nurturing curiosity, supporting diverse learners, and empowering students to reach their fullest potential.
She joined the Elizabethtown Area School District in August 2019 and has since established herself as a student-centered, innovative educator who builds strong classroom communities where every learner feels valued. Beyond her instructional role, Ms. Love serves as an advisor for several student clubs, helping create engaging, inclusive opportunities that extend learning beyond the school day.
