The Elizabethtown Area High School Esports Overwatch 2 team competed in the LAN of Steel Open Esports Finals on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Robert Morris University. Prior to the finals, eight top high school teams from western and central Pennsylvania competed in a qualifying tournament to determine the two teams advancing to the championship match.
Elizabethtown earned one of the top two spots and faced Penn Manor in the championship match. While the Bears fell short in the final, their strong performance throughout the tournament highlighted the team’s skill, dedication, and teamwork.
The team members included: Camreon Cantey, Madalyn Guerrisi, Jackson Langlois (team captain), Anthony Lazzari, Jaymian Ortiz, and Liam Shriner.
The LAN of Steel Open is one of Pennsylvania’s premier live esports events, giving players the chance to compete on stage in a professional setting. Elizabethtown’s qualification for the finals continues the program’s successful run, following last year’s State Championship victory.
Coach Austin Henderson said, “This was an incredible opportunity for our players to experience a live competition environment and represent Elizabethtown on a bigger stage. I’m proud of the dedication and teamwork they’ve shown throughout the season.”
The Rotary Club of Elizabethtown generously covered transportation costs for the trip, helping ensure the team could participate in this high-level competition.
