Elizabethtown Area School District Students to Exhibit Artwork at Lancaster Museum of Art

The Elizabethtown Area School District proudly announces that students from the high school's Drawing III class will showcase their artwork at the Demuth Museum (120 East King Street; Lancaster, PA 17602) in April. Seniors Anjelissa Garcia and Skylar Gubbins; juniors Dillon Ernst, Willow Lloyd, and Mickey Joiner; and sophomore Olivia White will exhibit their pieces.

This collaboration between the high school art department and the museum marks an exciting endeavor aimed at exploring symbolism and identity in art, inspired by the works of Lancaster native, Charles Demuth. As part of the partnership, students delved into Demuth's collection, examining the symbolism embedded within his artwork. They were then challenged to reflect on aspects of their own identity and explore how these could be represented through symbols in their own artistic creations.

The exhibition's opening reception is on April 19, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The artwork will be on display to the public from April 20 to May 19, offering the community a chance to admire the talents of Elizabethtown's budding artists.
