East High Street Elementary School Celebrates Year-End Leader In Me Celebration of Learning

On Friday, May 31, East High Street Elementary School held its highly anticipated year-end Leader In Me Celebration of Learning. The event featured a school-wide parade that brought together families, friends, community leaders, and school staff to celebrate the students' achievements over the past year.

To the enthusiastic applause of parade guests, the students proudly marched around the school, displaying signs and exhibits that highlighted their personal successes, achievements, and growth. This parade marked the culmination of a year-long effort that began with each student setting personal goals for learning, leadership, and collaboration at the start of the school year. Throughout the year, students tracked their progress, and the school held monthly pep rallies to celebrate their successes.

Following the parade, students had the opportunity to present their self-made portfolios to their classmates. These portfolios highlighted the learning and leadership skills they had developed throughout the year, demonstrating their progress and dedication.

The Leader In Me program is designed to empower students to take charge of their learning and develop essential leadership skills. Today's celebration is a testament to their commitment and achievements.

The Leader In Me program, based on Stephen Covey's "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," aims to foster a culture of student empowerment, helping children become proactive, goal-oriented, and collaborative individuals. East High Street Elementary School's year-end celebration exemplifies the success of this program and its positive impact on students' development.
