Issues, Questions & Concerns

The Elizabethtown Area School District encourages parents and guardians to communicate openly with school staff regarding questions, concerns, or issues involving their child. In most cases, concerns can be resolved quickly and effectively through direct communication with the individuals closest to the situation.

To ensure questions and concerns are addressed efficiently and at the appropriate level, the District encourages families to follow the process outlined below.

Step 1: Contact the Classroom Teacher

Questions and concerns should first be directed to your child's classroom teacher. Teachers are often best positioned to provide clarification and resolve issues quickly.

If the concern remains unresolved after speaking with the teacher, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Contact the Building Principal

If additional assistance is needed, contact your child's building principal. The principal will review the concern, gather information, and work toward a resolution.

If the concern remains unresolved, proceed to Step 3.

Step 3: Contact the Appropriate District Administrator

For unresolved concerns, contact the appropriate district administrator and provide details regarding the concern and previous attempts to resolve the matter.

If the concern remains unresolved, proceed to Step 4.

Step 4: Contact the Superintendent

Only after Steps 1 through 3 have been completed, concerns may be directed to the Superintendent.

Tom Strickler, Superintendent & Chief Financial and Operations Officer

The Superintendent will review the concern and determine the appropriate next steps.

If the concern remains unresolved, proceed to Step 5.

Step 5: Contact the Board Secretary

If a satisfactory resolution is not achieved after working through the previous steps, concerns may be directed to the Board Secretary.

Rebecca Maxwell, Board Secretary

Please note that concerns submitted directly to the Board of School Directors are typically referred back through the appropriate administrative channels for review and resolution.
