The Elizabethtown Area School District encourages stakeholders to seek information through official communication channels, including the District website, social media accounts, and the Who to Call resource. To further support transparency and informed decision-making, the District created InFocus as a communication tool to address topics of public interest, answer frequently asked questions, clarify misunderstandings, and provide accurate information on issues affecting our schools and community.
InFocus aims to promote clarity, transparency, and accuracy within our school community by leveraging the benefits of sharing accurate and timely information, mitigating the negative impacts of rumors, and curbing the spread of misinformation, intentional or unintentional.

At this time, there is no evidence of a roach infestation at Elizabethtown Area High School. However, in response to a recent report, we have contacted our pest management provider, Western Pest Management, to conduct a thorough inspection and provide any necessary treatments.
What is the status of the 2025-2026 school district budget ahead of the preliminary budget vote scheduled for April 22, 2025?
The 2025-2026 budget development process began with aligning school and department-level budgets with payroll projections, contractual obligations, debt service schedules, and operational needs to establish a preliminary financial plan. Given the initial deficit, as part of the normal annual budget refinement process, the District Administration reviewed the draft budget multiple times and identified opportunities to reduce expenditures. Additionally, the Board directed the Administration to identify further reductions to help minimize any potential tax increase.
How Does EASD Maintain Social Media as a Valuable Communication Tool?

We have received several inquiries about the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) and its National Coming Out Day event. The approval of this activity is based on both federal law and our school board policies, which uphold equal rights and opportunities for all student-led clubs.
Has a decision been made regarding the future of the Elizabethtown Area High School and Middle School complex?
No. During the regularly scheduled board meeting on September 10, 2024, representatives from Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates, the District’s architectural firm, presented their findings from a nearly year-long feasibility study. The study evaluated all five school buildings, focusing on their age, condition, and future maintenance needs. The study concluded that the current secondary school complex, serving students in grades 6-12, requires immediate and substantial upgrades or replacement due to its condition.
